Hydromagic Survey release notes - version 9.1

Build 9.1.20.626

  • Side scan sonar data can now be imported, filtered and geo-referenced and loaded as raster map;
  • The new side scan import function supports Triton XTF, Humminbird and Lowrance (SL2) sonar files;
  • The helmsman display is now loaded as a "dockable window" and can be resized;
  • The map display window can be panned, zoomed and rotated using the keyboard (via customizable shortcut keys);
  • You can now define multiple (autopilot) routes in your project using the "Project Explorer";
  • Right clicking on the "Routes" folder in the "Project Explorer" allows you to customize the way routes are drawn as map overlay;
  • ASCII importing tools will now accept text files saved using the Unicode (UCS2) encoding;
  • The format of floating point values can be specified when importing ASCII files, for instance when a comma is used as decimal separator;
  • The build in 3D matrix viewer has been replaced with a stand alone application: the "Terrain Viewer", which offers more functionality;
  • The new terrain viewer offers customizable lighting, wire frame line width selection and the amplification range has been increased;
  • The SEG-Y raw data import function has been improved. It now supports files saved in little-endian byte order (SEG-Y revision 2.0);
  • AutoCAD DXF import improvement: Now supports ARC entities with an extrusion vector and POLYLINE entities containing splines;
  • Added definitions for the GEOID18 geoid model for the United Stated CONUS and Puerto Rico;
  • When importing a matrix file, the software will now ask whether to copy the file to the project folder when it is not already there;
  • When generating soundings from raw data files, the software will now check whether all datum or grid shift files are installed (NTv2);
  • Added a new plugin: Generic Motion Sensor plugin. Allows you to configure any motion sensor with ASCII output;
  • Added a new plugin: Manual draft plugin. Allows you to set the draft of your dredge or vessel manually;
  • Added a new plugin: Trimble GCS900 plugin. Allows you to connect Hydromagic Dredging to a Trimble GCS900 excavator monitoring system;
  • Added a new plugin: Yost Labs 3-Space Sensor plugin. This low cost IMU can be used as pitch and roll sensor for your boat or USV;
  • Updated the help application and PDF manuals with new (Windows 10) screenshots;
  • The NTRIP plugin now performs a check on incoming RTCM data. It calculates the checksum and splits messages in separate packets;
  • The AirMar EchoRange plugin can now be used to interface with dual frequency EchoRange sensors over RS485;
  • The big "North Indicator" has been replace with a more lightweight one, taking up less space in the map display;
  • The "Layer Properties" window allows you to modify the brightness of raster maps, side scan images and matrices;
  • More information on matrices (spacing, cell count, void cells, layers) is now displayed in the "Layer Properties" window;
  • Most dialog boxes now contain a clickable link to online documentation;
  • The visibility icons (eye icons) have been replaced with checkboxes. Improved visibility in the field;
  • The "Manage Files", "Manage Soundings", "Manage Boundaries" windows buttons have been replace with bigger ones with a descriptive text;
  • A new "Export Echogram" button has been added to the "Manage Soundings" window, which will allow you to export echograms as image files;
  • Added new vessel shapes (RIB and waterscooter);
  • The "EchoLogger" plugin now supports the binary protocols, allowing for faster ping rates;
  • The "Lock Objects" button has been removed to avoid confusion. When accidentally moving objects, just undo with Ctrl-Z;
  • The "Elevation Mode" button has been removed. This will now be auto detected;
  • The confusing term "Corrected Sounding" has been replaced with "Elevation" in several post-processing tools;
  • When generating matrices, the data source is stored with the matrix. This prevents users from mixing up elevation and depth matrices in volume calculations;
  • The font size of the data view can now be adjusted with the buttons in its new toolbar;
  • The "Drawing Order" tools has been improved, now showing layer information and visibility;
  • The dredging software is now able to track multiple dredge heads simultaneously;
  • You can specify your own ASCII logging format in the dredging software;
  • Changed the way dredging equipment is configured in the dredging software, it now supports a wider range of configurations;
  • More processing tools have been modified to output logging to the new activity view pane.
