Gall Stereographic Projection

Since the Mercator projection causes considerable distortion of size at latitudes approaching the poles, many attempts have been made to create map projections which, although similar to it, improve upon it in this respect.

The Gall Stereographic projection, which is a stereographic, cylindrical projection that is neither equal-area or conformal, is one such projection.

Required Parameters

To convert coordinates using the Gall Stereographic projection, the following parameters have to be set:

• False Northing;
• False Easting;
• Central Meridian;
