Yes, this is possible. By creating a sounding of the lake using a simple GPS and echosounder, a depth matrix (XYZ) can be created using interpolation.
The generated matrix will be compared to a reference level (in this case the water surface, which is 0.0).
This results in a calculated volume and area of the pond.
