Side Scan File Manager

The "Side Scan File Manager" can be used to apply operations on more than one side scan sonar file at a time. The manager window lists all side scan files loaded in the project and allows you to select multiple side scan files in order to toggle visibility, remove, or export files. The list of side scan files also shows you the creation or recording date, the start time, the records count and file size.

Opening the Side Scan File Manager

The "Side scan file manager" can be opened from the "Project Explorer", which is normally situated on the left side of the main program window. If not visible yet, select "Project Explorer" from the "View" menu, locate the "Side Scan Sonar" folder in the "Project Explorer", and right-click this folder with the mouse. From the context menu which appears, select the "Manage Files..." option as shown below:

Right click the "Side Scan Sonar" folder and select "Manage Files...".

The toolbar contains buttons for most of the options offered by the Side Scan File Manager. First, select the files in the list by clicking multiple items while holding the CTRL button. It is also possible to select a single item. To select all items on a touch screen device, simply press the 'Select All' button.

Remove File(s)

You can delete one or multiple side scan sonar file(s) from your hydrographic survey by clicking the "Remove File" button. Before you can access this button, you must select one or multiple side scan files from the side scan files list. Before side scan files are permanently deleted, you must confirm the deletion by clicking the 'OK' button in the confirmation dialog that appears:

You always have to confirm removal of side scan files.

Select All

With the 'Select All' button, the current selection will be reversed, meaning that when none of the side scan files is selected, clicking this button will select all side scan files. This button has been added to the toolbar to allow touch screen users to select or deselect all side scan files by simply clicking a button.

Toggle Visibility

Use the 'Toggle Visibility' button to toggle the visibility (show or hide) of the selected items in the side scan file list. From the 'Project Explorer', you can toggle the visibility of side scan files, but you have to toggle them one by one since there is no way to select multiple items at once (unless you toggle a complete folder). If you want to, for instance, hide all side scan files, the easiest method is to open the Side Scan File Manager from the 'Project Explorer', then click the 'Select All' button followed by the 'Toggle Visibility' button.
